Swindon
Dolphin left it late but managed to sneak a last gasp victory against Newton Abbot’s
first team in their final

Bristol

and West, Division II fixture of the season.

The
first quarter involved goals being exchanged by both sides.
David
Quinlivan
, Andy
Hicks
and Michal
Trzeciak
all scored for the home side.  The
score at the end of the period was three goals each.

In
the second period Dolphin capitalised on home advantage and managed to open up a lead.
Hicks and Ian
Brewer
both scored early on but Abbot managed to pull
themselves level before strikes from
Chris
Selby
and Hicks (2)
opened up a three goal advantage.
Selby and Matt
James
then scored to ensure Dolphin lead by three at
the end of the period.

The
match was a close fought affair in the third period with
Hicks scoring
a hatrick and
Trzeciak adding
another for the home side.

Dolphin
scored the first goal in the final period through
Trzeciak, but
Abbot went on to score five unanswered goals as the Dolphin side started to tire,
leaving the travelling side with a one goal advantage.
Quinlivan and James were
then both on target and with just over a minute on the clock
Hicks pulled
Dolphin level.  Both sides had a number
of attacks before
James scored
the winner.  Dolphin ran out winners by
19 goals to 18.

Coach David
Quinlivan
was pleased with another victory though he
felt ‘Abbot probably deserved something from the fixture’.  He
said ‘there were many positives but there is a great deal the team can work on in
the closed season’.
